(University Department of Psychology)
The University Department of Psychology came into existence in the year 1954 and was bifurcated from L.S. College, Muzaffarpur in 1976. It was shifted to its own seperate building in 1985. It is one of the oldest Postgraduate Departments not only of this university but also of the state. The department has a glorious and briliant traditions of promoting research work in various fields of Psychology. Several research papers have been published by the teachers and research scholars of the Department in reputed National and International Journals. Many of the Research Scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degrees by the University. The quality of research standard won appreciation by renowned and reputed Psychologists across the country. Most of the branches of Psychology are being taught with adequate emphasis on theories and practicals. The sole aim of the department is to equip students with complete knowledge to face the challenges coming from the transitional phase of the society.
